Benefit for the German-American Heritage Center
in Washington DC
Saturday, November 15

Benefit dinner in support of this national center to preserve and promote appreciation for the German culture.  Sponsored by the Donau Austrian-American Society Singers, Alpenland Tänzer, Adults & Kinder and the Sick Benefit Society.    Pork dinner and dessert along with  music, entertainment, dancers and raffle.  1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  $15pp


German Christmas Fair

Saturday, December 6

The hours are from 10 am to 4pm.  Scha-Musi will play German music and German food such as Bratwurst,
Bauernwurst, Sauerkraut, and a Kassler Ripchen dinner will be served. 
All types of German holiday gifts will be available for sale.  
Please come on down and enjoy a German Christmas celebration.  Entrance is open to the public and is free!!

Sunday Football
Club is now open for FOOTBALL, 12-8, food available as well.  Football, food, friends, fun, why stay home?

Heimat Abend - Held every first Friday of the month. Music by Peter Frey.

Starts at 7:00 pm. Hot food is available from the kitchen. Dates are as follows: February 1, March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, July 4, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7, and December 5.
Admission $3.

Heurigan Abend - Held every third Friday of the month

Music by Schachtelgebirger Musikanten starts at 7:30 pm. Hot food is available from the kitchen. Dates are as follows: February 15, March 21,  April 18, May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21, and December 19.
Admission $3.

Gemütlicher Abend - Held every fourth Friday of the month. Music by the young Violinist, Nick Kwas.

Free Admission includes light fare. Dates are as follows: February 22, March 28, April 25, May 23, June 27, July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24, November 21, December 26.

Sonntag Frühstuck - Every second Sunday of the month come enjoy breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to noon. No breakfast: April, June, July and August.

German Language School - For those people who wish to learn the language of their parents or grandparents the Donau Club offers instruction in the German language. The course is primarily structured for beginners or those wanting to refresh their German speaking and writing skills. The school is taught by the honorable William MacNamara, former mayor of New Britain and longtime German language teacher in the New Britain School system. Singing Society - The Men's and Women's Singing Societies meet every Tuesday at 7pm. The Singers have been in existence since 1906 and continue to carry on the traditions of German and Austrian choral singing. The Alpenland Tänzer - Founded in 1960, the dancers are dedicated to upholding the tradition of Alpine folk dances. They meet on Thursdays at 7pm. There is also a Kindergruppe for children wishing to participate and perform. Please visit the website of the dancers. The Austrian Sick Benefit Society - The governing body of the Austrian Donau Club. Originally formed in 1920 to provide disability benefits for its members who are of Austrian or German descent.
